Opting out of Divorce laws.
WHAT TO EXPECT
How Prenups Work & Why You Should Have One
Premarital agreements, otherwise known as prenups. The simplest way to describe a prenup is to compare it to a Will.
A party executes a Will when they want to dictate what happens with their estate when they die as opposed to letting the State’s laws control.
Similarly, people use prenups when they want to decide what will happen if they divorce rather than leavign that decision to Nevada divorce laws and a family court judge. The parties have the ability to enter into a contract spelling out what will happen if they divorce; and then if there is a divorce, ask the judge to confirm the agreement. When there is a prenup, the divorce process should be much faster.
